THANKSGIVING DAY

We were taught that the Pilgrims began the first Thanksgiving in America, but where did they get that holiday? The early Pilgrims wanted to start the colony fashioned after Israel. They were going to make the language Hebrew, I am glad they didn't. Israel celebrates a fall feast called Tabernacles, where they travel outside their homes, and offer thanks for Gods blessings.

Our Thanksgiving Day is not only an American holiday, but it is also biblical. It is to be celebrated by the children of Abraham, both physical and spiritual. The evidence of having received a gift is the art of thanksgiving. Have you received any gift from the Lord?
